The Cabins were envisioned as a retreat where architecture responds naturally to its environment. Inspired by traditional dome structures, the design blends vernacular wisdom with a contemporary approach to create spaces that remain cool, breathable, and comfortable. The massing strategy plays a key role in this environmental dialogue. The north elevation is raised to capture prevailing breezes and encourage cross-ventilation, while the south elevation remains lower to reduce exposure to harsh sunlight and minimize heat gain. Perforated brick screens act as a breathable layer, filtering soft daylight into the interiors while allowing continuous air circulation. The result is a dynamic play of light and shadow that enhances both comfort and atmosphere. More than cabins, the project reflects a thoughtful balance between tradition and modern design, creating spaces that feel naturally connected to their climate and surroundings.
